1. Officially Introducing Rubrik Annapurna

Annapurna is Rubrik’s next-gen data platform purpose-built for AI use cases. It pulls from the company’s previous data architecture, with a slew of upgrades to position it for AI success. It reformats and prepares data for secure AI model usage and pairs it with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) to help minimize leakage. The product is a secret weapon when it comes to offering reliable data pipelines that models require for advancement and differentiation.

Until today, there was a material gap in Rubrik’s capabilities that Annapurna now closes. It wasn’t perfectly suited for a lot of unstructured data needs that are absolutely mission-critical in the AI age. As of this week, Annapurna can now act as a unifying force for a web of disparate unstructured data silos routinely prevalent at large enterprises. It can race around a customer’s digital estate, scan for insights and map all of this data into a centralized dashboard of understanding. With this overarching view, knowing what data is needed and when it’s needed becomes much more straightforward. No longer do companies need to constantly move entire databases for single projects. No longer do they need to translate all of this information so it’s usable by AI systems. No longer do they need to go through the extra step of organizing these jumbled messes every single time. Now, they can catalog and query exactly what unstructured information they need from whatever source they want without redundantly copying everything. This naturally cuts costly Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes, making Rubrik an efficiency force multiplier for its customers and freeing them to use the 90% of their enterprise data that is unstructured in their AI roadmaps. It’s easy to see how valuable that will be for enterprise productivity, as well as finding vulnerabilities more quickly.

2. Autonomous Business Recovery (ABR) for Cloud Applications

With the foundation of Rubrik AI, the company is extending the reach of its world-class automated immutable data backups to boast end-to-end software application resilience and recovery. And, considering that arguably the most important part of cloud app resilience is recovering all compromised data, Rubrik’s core positions it very well to seamlessly expand into this highly relevant adjacency.

The new offering heavily leans on Rubrik’s Preemptive Recovery Engine to restore a customer’s Minimum Viable Business (MVB) for all cloud applications. This includes full normalization of data environments, app experiences, as well as perfectly reestablished mazes of highly complex permissions and dependencies. And it does all of this in a purely automated fashion that merely requires the click of a button for customers. The innovation turns weeks of hard manual work into a profoundly more efficient process, saving money, downtime and headaches. Alternative solutions require “dozens of engineers” frantically patching issues, manually writing code and hoping the sequence of repairs leads to a fully functioning app. That requires a lot of random trial and error, testing and more fixing – all of which means more downtime and higher costs. Rubrik does all of this while allowing customers to pre-set recovery plans while testing their efficacy (whenever desired) before any issues pop up. Importantly, it also features integrations with RBRK and partner security tools, eliminating the possibility of a team initiating a recovery that still has a pressing vulnerability in it.

“Recovering our traditional computer servers after an incident used to be straightforward, but modern cloud software is an entirely different beast with hundreds of hidden dependencies. Rubrik’s hands-free recovery tool (ABR) completely changes the game for us. It maps out our cloud programs automatically, lets us test our emergency plans with zero disruption to daily business, and ensures that if a worst-case scenario happens, we can recover our most critical apps cleanly and instantly.” – large logistics customer’s VP of Infrastructure
