Headlines:
Waymo is ending exclusivity with Uber in Austin and Atlanta to open the door for more partnerships and ways for consumers to book a ride. Uber will remain an option, but Waymo will understandably seek out other ways to find more utilization. This was announced on Friday. The news is probably why Uber spent a lot of its earnings remarks earlier in the week talking about its budding partner roster and how many of them were reaching commercialization.
CrowdStrike’s Fal.Con Europe notched 60% Y/Y registration growth. The headline launch was a new AI Kill Switch in Falcon Guardian, which shuts down rogue agents in real time. CrowdStrike also agreed to buy Fiddler AI for a reported $400 million and Dreadnode for about $95 million. Fiddler adds runtime agent monitoring and Dreadnode provides pre-runtime testing. Finally, Agent Insider Threat Detection and Agentic Adversary Emulation, which simulates attacks, were also announced. Pretty much the entire event was about agents.
Meta bought Conductor, which is an AI coding agent orchestrator. It also priced a 5-part $15B bond offering at 5.85%-7.50% after a $25B April bond sale.
Next week, I’ll be covering Nu, Hims and Sea Limited earnings reports. I’ll also be publishing reviews of Cava, Cloudflare and Datadog earnings from this past week. Next, I interviewed SoFi’s team and will be providing notes from that conversation. Finally, Snowflake had a product event that included plenty of exciting work in AI governance and fully automated coding agents. I’m excited to cover that in more detail but had to prioritize the 10 detailed earnings reports published this week.
Have a great weekend!
